Fan coil units circulate hot or cold water through circuits built into the coils and move air in the room to heat or cool the air to condition the space. Under the condition<br \/>\nof a Hofmann heat pump, hot or cold water would circulate in the coil, to remove or add heat to the air through heat transfer.<\/p>\n<p>Speed \u200b\u200bcontrol of the fan motor within the fan coil is effectively used to control the desired heating and cooling output from the unit.
